I am 15 years old and my dad is suffering from ALD and MS
it is really hard to watch him suffer. he has been sick since before i was born. the past three years he has progressed severely and he means so much to me. The combination of both diseases are eating him alive. How do you deal with watching someone so close to you suffer like this? and slowly die in front of you. Feeding your father who is only 53 years old is so hard. My 97 year old great grandmother is in so much better shape then my father. I need someone to talk to.

Re: I am 15 years old and my dad is suffering from ALD and MS
Wow -you are definatly being challenged, but remember your father loves you and needs your love and support every day. My daughter's father was diagnosed this past year and is slowly declining. He is 37 years old, and sadly doesn't understand what is happening. Until recently i did not even know much about this disease. Remember, this is not your fault, there is no purpose in finding fault, just being there for him and making each day a special day. God Bless!
